IMPACT
Creating measurable change through community basketball
Athletic Academy CIC exists to improve wellbeing, confidence, and life opportunities for children and young people across Nottingham. Our impact is focused on reducing barriers to participation, supporting mental wellbeing, and creating positive pathways through sport for those who need it most.

OUR IMPACT AREAS
We increase access to structured sport for young people who face financial, social, or confidence-related barriers. Our programmes prioritise inclusion, affordability, and safe environments, ensuring basketball is accessible regardless of background or prior experience.

HOW WE MEASURE IMPACT
Participation & Access
Wellbeing & Mental Health
Through consistent, supportive basketball environments, we promote improved emotional wellbeing, confidence, and resilience. Our sessions provide positive outlets for expression, routine, and belonging. Particularly for young people experiencing emotional or social challenges.
Social Connection & Behaviour
Our programmes foster teamwork, respect, and positive peer relationships. By creating safe, structured spaces, we support improved engagement, reduced isolation, and stronger connections between young people and their communities.
Progression & Positive Pathways
We create clear pathways for continued participation and progression, including links into community clubs, leadership opportunities, volunteering, and structured competitive environments such as Nottingham Athletic. Our focus is long-term engagement, not short-term activity.
Athletic Academy CIC is committed to measuring and evidencing social impact as programmes are piloted and scaled. Impact is monitored through:
Participation, attendance, and retention data
Participant feedback and wellbeing check-ins
Feedback from schools, partners, and families
Individual case studies and progression stories
Tracking engagement into clubs, pathways, and further opportunities
Baseline data will be collected during pilot delivery to support transparent reporting and continuous improvement.
OUTCOMES WE AIM TO DELIVER
As programmes develop with funding and partnerships, we aim to demonstrate:
Increased participation in physical activity among underrepresented groups
Improved confidence, wellbeing, and emotional resilience
Stronger engagement with education, community, and structured sport
Clear progression routes into long-term participation, leadership, or development pathways
COMMUNITY IMPACT COMMITMENT
Athletic Academy CIC is a Community Interest Company registered in England & Wales. All activities are delivered for public benefit, with a commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and positive outcomes for children and young people.
